The Hampstead Players Youth Theatre (HPYT) is the division of the Hampstead Players for young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Their first production was Dreams of Anne Frank, in April 2002. A cast of nine performed Bernard Kops' remarkable play in the Crypt of Hampstead Parish Church... "I loved the production. Erica and I were very moved and impressed by the acting of the entire cast. There was such a deep truth to all the performances. Please convey to them our warmest thanks and congratulations." Bernard Kops In November 2002, the HPYT collaborated for the first time with the adult members of the Hampstead Players, when a cast of 40 performed Lionel Bart's masterpiece, Oliver!. The show was an enormous success, not least because of the involvement, commitment and enthusiasm of the 20 young people in the cast. In May 2006, a talented new group of HPYT members brought the magical world of the Brothers Grimm to life, in a colourful and imaginative production of Carol Ann Duffy and Tim Supple's Grimm Tales. In addition to performing in full-scale productions, HPYT members participate in a programme of workshops, readings and other events, and host occasional evenings throughout the year, to which all members of the Hampstead Players, families and friends are invited. Further details of this programme of events can be found below.
